Medica 2009: considerable interest in wireless controls

Welcoming 138,000 visitors from more than 100 countries, MEDICA, the world’s largest trade fair for medicine and medical technology, which this year closed its doors on 21st November 2009, was just able to beat its figure from the previous year of 137,000 visitors. In the light of the world economic crisis, this result is significant. It demonstrates that modern medical technology is in demand across the globe (43% of visitors came from abroad) – as well as the fact that the cycles of manufacturing innovation are so short that the specialist audience is not prepared to miss a single MEDICA fair.

These results from the MEDICA final report may be pleasing: but for steute the fair was even more of a success. Over the total of four days, significantly more visitors came to the steute booth than in the previous year. As many as 20% more visitors per day sought detailed information about the exhibits and, in particular, our new products.

The main focus of interest was our new “steute wireless” system, developed especially with medical equipment in mind. Its protocol facilitates reliable, disruption-free and energy-saving wireless signal transmission in surgeries, hospitals and laboratories.

Many visitors to Booth C36 in Hall 13 also enquired into the new ergonomic hand-held control devices from steute, presented at the MEDICA for the first time. These “handy” devices, in the most literal sense of the word, also make use of the new steute wireless protocol.
