After different stations in and around the business group Schmersal Klaus Obstfeld took over the business management at steute in 1998, which he still occupied together with the CEO Stefan Schmersal after the spin-off from the Schmersal group until the end of April 2008.
The change in the management taking effect on 1st May was carefully prepared. Marc Stanesby has been working together with Klaus Obstfeld for 3 years in the management board.
After having successfully passed his Br. Eng. degree in the UK he worked as design engineer in different companies of the machinery and plant industry all over Europe. In 1995 he found a job at K. A. Schmersal GmbH and took over various specialized and executive functions in the sales and marketing department.
steute is manufacturer of electrical switchgear for industrial and medical applications having as a motto »safe switchgear for complex and critical applications«. The product portfolio covers among others intelligent foot-operated controls and energy-autarkic, wireless signal transmission. Meanwhile steute disposes of 7 international companies and 30 distributors worldwide.
